Julius.C
Dear Ney
Last week I went to the Noel Coward theatre to see an all black cast production of Julius Caesar by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Interestingly, the play was set in Africa and Caesar took the form of an African dictator. Although the concept was great, the accents were really poor, with West Indian actors struggling with the African accent - switching between South Africa and West Africa in the same sentence (not good). Combined with the language of the great playwright, it sounded a little messy, they should have just played it straight, but a good performance all the same. I look forward to the all Asian production of 'Much Ado About Nothing' at the end of the month.
